WRAG Update, 19th May 2007
Thank you to those who turned up at the Town Hall last Thursday to discuss the issues at the quarry. I hope that it was informative. If you have any further questions or suggestions then please feel free to e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . WRAG is a village group and we will all need to make a concerted effort over the next month so that we can get an outcome that is satisfactory to everyone.

In the last couple of weeks there has been a leafleting and postering campaign to make sure everyone in the village is aware of the issues. By now, pretty much everyone in the village should have had an information leaflet through there door and, if they were in, an opportunity to sign the petition. We are up to around 350 signatures, which, in a village of 700 houses, shows that there is a significant concern about what is going on.

If there is anything that you think would be useful to put on the website then please contact Dan through the website. We have also approached the Parish News to see if they can run something on the quarry for the next couple of months. (There should already be something going in the June issue.)

Please make sure that you have done the following:

o Signed petition,
o Sent a comment on the 3 planning applications (via post or web),
o Sent a comment to Howard Gawler our Ward Councilor (via post or e-mail),
o Sent a comment to Steve Webb our MP (via post or e-mail),
o Considered putting up a poster,
o Added 7th June to your diary (quarry site visit - 1:20pm)
o Added 5th July to your diary (Quarry application put before the planning committee)

If there is anything else that you think that we should be doing at the moment, or specific areas which interest you then please make us aware of that.

Remember, we need to make Cemex and the planners aware that we are concerned about the plans and serious about apposing them.
